I am currently working as an inhouse full stack developer at Thanos Hotels & Resorts in Paphos specializing in Microsoft technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, some C#, Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS and office 365 admin suite including SharePoint as well. Other technologies I am involved with include Bootstrap, HTML/5, JavaScript, jQuery, DevOps and PLESK platform. My role involves working closely with the Business Development Director to identify, research and implement systems that automate business processes and help the users to work more efficiently and boost their productivity. The development mainly focuses on inhouse projects which are developed to optimise internal business operations and digitize the process entirely where needed. As a stand alone developer I am also responsible for the performance and quality of our products and therefore I also perform code analysis and pay attention to details. Lastly, I am also responsible for maintaining and managing our inhouse web server running on a cloud VM with SQL Server and the PLESK platform.

MSc Advanced Computer Science

My Master degree was completed at the University of Sheffield where I was awarded with a Distinction / First Class honours. Courses included Text Processing, Java Ecommerce, The intelligent web, JAVA and UML for programmer, Natural Language Processing, Software Measurement & Testing, Research Techniques, Safety Critical Software Systems, Darwin Research Project, and MSc Dissertation project.

My EXPERIENCE

Based on my experience, I can work on any kind of project using a variety of tools in which I am experienced with. However, as a fast learner I can still work with technologies that are new to me.

Software Engineer at Thanos Hotels

I am currently working as a full stack developer specializing in Microsoft technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, some C#, Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS and office 365 suite including SharePoint as well. Other technologies I am involved with include Bootstrap, HTML/5, JavaScript, jQuery, DevOps and PLESK platform. I am also eligible to new technologies that might be required for the solution of a problem or a project.

In general, my responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Business Development Director to identify and implement systems that automate business processes and help the users of those systems to work more efficiently.
- Gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, managing the hotels systems as well as writing new solutions when required.
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Document and maintain software functionality and train users when required.
- Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade existing systems and diagnose & address application issues when required.
- Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
- Managing our web server and DNS (Domain Name Services) services
- Researching for new emerging technologies and resolve any problems involved in integrating with the existing systems
- Reviewing with the management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development.
- Provide advice, training and technical support for various projects.

From April 2018 to present

Lead ASP.NET developer at UiBS

Architectural changes to the Business and Data access layers (BLL and DAL) for improving the company's software and introducing new functionality as well as extending the possibilities of the software (CRS, CRM, CMS). SQL Server related tasks including query optimization, table optimization, creation of store procedure and new tables. SQL Server Agent jobs for scheduling and running tasks/programs or calling database store procedures to perform a certain task. Developed the company's commerce module (shopping cart) which is connected with JCC payment gateway. Responsive Web Development including DOM manipulation with JavaScript/jQuery. Developed, updated and maintained projects for the Four Seasons Hotel, Leptos Calypso hotels, Thanos hotels as well as the Cyprus Hotels Association website which includes a multi-search hotel feature (260 hotels with filter criteria) and various other projects. Technologies used: VS 2012/2013/2015, VB.NET, some C#, JQuery, JavaScript, HTML,HTML5, CSS,CSS3, Telerik controls, IIS, MS SQL server 2016 and SQL Examiner. Integration of Theovas PMS with UiBS Central reservation system.

Web Development using the Drupal content management framework. Custom modules development according to the client requirements. Front end development including custom themes based on clients’ needs Project requirements gathering and analysis. Testing and bug fixes.

Webmaster at Liquid Markets (FOREX)

Front End development (HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery/JavaScript). Building and sending email newsletters (EmailVision). Identifying and addressing technical E-commerce issues and ensuring site functionality across the four sites of the company. Supporting content editors using the CMS (WordPress and Orchard), editing and publishing online content. I developed the company’s partner tools (affiliate page) where IBs can use the company’s logos, banners and other Forex tools.

Web/Software developer at UiBS

Working on projects such as the company's content management system as well as the company's central reservation’s system. Developed the front end of a web mobile solution that was linked to the central reservations system and was mostly targeted for iPhone users. Developed, updated and maintained websites for various clients including websites with a multi-search hotel feature and various others. Technologies used: MS Visual studio 2010/12, VB.NET, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5, CSS, IIS, MS SQL server 2008 and SQL Examiner.
